VCF Juvenil A, runners-up at the 2025 COTIF
The Valencian side were defeated 2-0 by Argentina
VCF Juvenil A finished as runners-up at the 2025 COTIF, the international U-20 tournament that, over the past two weeks, brought together various national teams in L’Alcúdia. Valencia CF participated as the representative of Valencian football, alongside UD Alboraya.
The grand final saw Argentina’s National Team face VCF Juvenil A, who had previously beaten Mauritania in an exciting semifinal. The team coached by Óscar Sánchez tried to impose their game from the start, but found themselves up against a determined Argentina side whose high pressing made it difficult to build up play.
After an early warning that saw goalkeeper Mollà make a brilliant save, Argentina took the lead with two quick goals from Salazar and Tomás de Martin, making it difficult for VCF Juvenil A to fight for the title. Their best chance came from a cross into the box that Boyko was close to reaching in the six-yard area.
The second half was more balanced, and the Valencia CF youth team created a few dangerous chances, but couldn’t find the clear opportunity or goal to get back into the game.
VCF Juvenil A close out the 41st edition of the COTIF as runners-up and remain the most decorated team in the history of the tournament, having won it six times and finished as runners-up on seven occasions.
